Well, Mom's party is tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited! I am going out tonight after work to find some buds and plant them in tiny pots as favors, and perhaps choose a family craft to do? And I can't WAIT to post about it afterwards!
In other news, Found&Found is taking off - I've had several friends tell me that they know a lot of people who follow me now and have bought some of the deals I've posted! And although I haven't technically bought ANYTHING from Found&Found (Logs is so proud, I'm sure), I have had a dear friend buy me something as a gift (Before/After post on that item to come eventually!) and I'm buying something that my friend bought that didn't work out for her. So indirectly, even I'm taking advantage of the deals I post!
While browsing for Found&Found, I saw a post I've seen a thousand times (they recycle more often than you think!) about a hutch for a buffet. I don't know why I decided to read the whole ad again, but it was from a little shop in 100 Oaks that I really should go visit sometime. Anyway, I noticed that besides the hutch, they were offering the entire set of china pictured on the hutch for $80! I didn't want it because it was pink, but it got me thinking about china...
We didn't register for china because we felt like it was impractical at this point in our life, and Melly (my wonderful mother-in-law) suggested registering later and asking for it for Christmas, birthdays, and other holidays. So that's what I plan to do.
However, the china in that photo - despite it's pinkness (it's beautiful, pink would just look awful in our house and possibly make my sweet husband lose his appetite if I served on it), was GORGEOUS. It gave me an idea of what I want to get when I do eventually get china.
I'd really love to just buy a whole set at $80 like this woman offered, so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for some.
These are examples of what I want, but I want mine to be a mustard/yellow pattern. I don't know why - I used to hate yellow but ever since we accidentally painted our house yellow (how did we think that was "coffee" ?!) I am just in love with all things yellow!
These are all Johnson Bros pieces (that's what was pictured in the Craiglist ad for the hutch), but really I just love how heavy the design is. I'm pretty sure this isn't Logan's idea of great china (he's a minimalist through and through), but china is for girls, not for boys... right?
Anywho. Just thought I'd share what's on my mind (a lot!). I'm hoping soon to change our light fixtures (in a renter-friendly way, don't worry!), refinish the buffet and sofa table I mentioned earlier, and make a woven burlap pin board for above our bed. Ooh man, what a wonderful life this is!
Happy Friday!
-Jill
